Washington, D.C. — A new study has shown that the state’s state Capitol is the most expensive office building in the nation.
The study, published by the Economic Policy Institute, found that the current building, located in downtown Washington, DC, would cost $8.3 billion to replace, which is $7.4 million per square foot, which would be the highest in the U.S. The building would be replaced by an $8 million mixed-use building, which the study called “the most economically efficient.”
The study also showed that the building would cost more than $3.8 million to replace.
The state has proposed spending $8 billion for its Capitol, with $3 billion coming from the federal government and $1 billion from state and local governments.
The economic analysis also showed the Capitol would be one of the most environmentally friendly buildings in the United States.
A large portion of the building is located near an ocean and oceanfront property.
The cost of replacing the Capitol is estimated to be $7,000 per square meter.
